Our research activities at CREC/LSHTM requires the use of small rodents for mosquito feeding and tunnel tests at various phases of the evaluation of vector control products. We aim to ensure that animals used for this purpose are treated appropriately following rigorous SOPS established based on national and international guidelines for their safety and protection. We are therefore proud to announce that after a year long evaluation and fine tuning of our animal care procedures; CREC/LSHTM has recently obtained approval from the Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Board (AWERB) of LSHTM for the use of animals in its research activities.
